SERVING TIME

I was driving along with my girl by my side
Although she didn't say,she wanted more than a ride
So I pulled up my car and we climbed in the back
then we got down to business and she sure had the knack

Half an hour later we noticed a sound
A cop in the darkness was a-nosing around
He knocked on my windscreen and turned on his light
He messed up our thing so I started to fight

And I'm still serving my time
I've got two more years to go
but when I get outta here
they better go hide their souls

That fight was my first but it sure aint my last
'cos as soon as I downed him I tried to split fast
but his buddy came running a-spitting the lead
My girl made a move so he shot her down dead

I stared for a while not believing my eyes
didn't notice he called up another two guys
They came up behind me and turned on the grudge
and the next thing I knew I was facing the judge

So I'm still serving my time
I've got two more years to go
but when I get outta here they better go hide their souls

The magistrate told me to tell him the truth
and that's what I did but they called me uncouth
They blamed me for shooting my girl on that night
when they questioned the cops they all said that was right

So I'm still serving my time
I've got two more years to go
but when I get outta here they better go hide their souls
